Another hotel slated for Upper King Street area of Charleston

The downtown Charleston new hotel market shows no sign of abating.
A Spartanburg investor wants to build a four-story boutique lodging off King and Cannon streets, across the street from the Midtown project.
The 24-unit Fire Tower Hotel, proposed by property owner Upper King Investments, will have an unusual configuration, and it’s named for the adjacent fire tower behind the city fire department on Cannon Street.
The block building and some adjacent sheds will be demolished behind the fire department and behind three other buildings at 9, 11, 13 and 15 Cannon St. The restaurant on King will remain, but six apartments in the two floors above HoM will become part of the hotel.
The four-story building will include three floors of six rooms each above parking.
